The NC Series make it's first trip to the triangle division this season at the very popular, very cold and very windy Buckhorn Open. Many familiar faces made their debut on the series this year and others returned for their second or third event.
Grant Hodges was one of the ones making his first appearance and won the Open Division receiving 50 points. However, Terry Gallops consistency and perfect attendance has kept him in the lead. He leads by 36 over Buckhorn runner Open Jeremy Koling. Brian Schweberger rounds out the top three after a third place finish.
Jeff Baldwin continued his great play in the masters division finishing second and extending his lead over Chris Lee, who was not in attendance, to 54 points. Matt Peckham made the drive and picked up the win - quite a feat for a left handed golfer on the very right handed friendly course. Dave George worked for 4 minutes this week and then cashed to move up to third place.
Despite not attending, Kurt Hodnett remains in the lead in the advanced division. Matt Gill picked up the win and the 50 points to start his 2012 season off. This division is by far the closest after three events as Hodnett only leads by 12 over Jon Mills, who finished 16 this weekend. All in all, 15 people are within 30 points of Hodnett.
In intermediate, Ryan Kastle held on to this lead as well finishing third. Sam Hendley picked up the 50 points with an impressive win making three different winners for all three events. Mike Norris is now in second just 17 behing Kastle.
Event 4 heads to the West for a Spike Hyzer event in Statesville.

Last Pro / Masters Points Series Event Scheduled!
Because the Charlotte Am Championship is Am only and such an awesome event, there is no way we could leave it off the NC Series. Well, this created a small problem because the pros and masters had 19 events instead of 20.
Well thanks to the Charlotte Disc Golf Club, this isn't a problem at all!
A one day event will take place at Killborne May 5th that will act as a pro and masters only points series event.
Don't worry Ams - you can still play this event, but you will need to play the CAC to get the NC Series points!
