2016 NC PDGA Information

Section 1

The 2016 PDGA Calendar for NC Events is completed.

There are many one day events that are not listed. These can not be scheduled with me since the 2 day events are completed. If anything is missing, please let me know.

Please note, as always, this calendar is a NOT SET IN STONE!!!!

There will be a few changes to USDGC this year. At this time, we are not sure if there will be a state spot awarded or not. Once we received clarification from the USDGC staff, I will announce my plan for the spot.

1 – Temp tee at bathroom to 2’s basket

2 – 3’s tee to 4’s basket (tree before creek on 3 is mando left)

3 – 5’s tee to 14’s basket

4 – 15’s tee to 4’s basket

5 – Temp tee at bathroom to 1’s basket

6 – Temp tee in 10’s fairway to 11’s basket

7 – 14’s tee to 15’s basket

8 – 16’s tee to 17’s basket

9 – 18’s tee to 9’s basket

*payout based on $5 less than entry. First 55 amateurs to check in receive a Discraft Towel. Any after that will receive a merch voucher of equal value

With only one event left, things are tight!

Barry Schultz officially captured his second North Carolina Open Title this weekend. While he will be the champion, Michael Johansen, Nate Tomlinson, Nathan Queen, Lance Brown Andrew Wiler and Weston Isaacs all are in contention for the other two cashing spots.

John Sheffield has a slim lead over Brian Schweberger in Masters, but Schwebby isn't scheduled to compete in Durham. Will he make it or will Sheffy take home his first title?

Come out to Durham Sunday to see the awards!

Congrats go out to Brian Adams for clinching the Advanced Division.

Barry Schultz has a firm lead in Open as does John Sheffield in Masters

Jason Wallace and Matt McKone are in a tight battle in intermediate.

Minor Change to NC Series

Due to unavoidable circumstances, the event at Sugar Grove has been canceled.

It has been replaced with the Wintersun Stroker Open in Fairview, NC (near Asheville).

It will also take place the same weekend, so those who made plans to travel west should still be able to attend!

Registration is now open via Spike Hyzer and is filling quick!

There will be no "payout" for amateurs. Instead, the top 3 finishers in each division will receive an additional prize.

Change to NC Series Schedule

Due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, there has been a small change to the NC Series schedule.

The OHO Crosstown event, scheduled for May 2 - 3, has been amended to a one day event, just May 3.

Due to this, the fall event that will take place at the same course (Patriots - a new course in central NC) October 17-18 will replace this event.

On behalf of tournament director for both events Phil Lawerence and myself (Robert Leonard), we apologize for any scheduling conflicts this has caused for those competing on the series. This truly was unavoidable.

A PDGA Sanctioned Amateur C-Tier event where all profits are donated to the 2015 Tim Selinske US Masters in Charlotte, NC!

Valley Springs Park, Durham

ENTRY FEES : (All Amateur PDGA Divisions will be offered)

$30 for all divisions.

All players will receive an ESP and a Z disc ($33 value) in their player packs.

The top three players in each division will receive additional prizes.
