Results after Oak Hollow

One of North Carolina's most historic events took place this past weekend in High Point, the Oak Hollow Open. Now ran by Phil Lawrence, OHO has had some of North Carolina's best play in and win the event. This year was no different.

Michael Johansen continued his hot play stemming from a fourth place finish at worlds to take home his 4th series win of the year. This win gave him 50 points and moved him to just 4 points behind an injured Brian Schweberger. Cam Todd's second place finish moved him in to 4th place in the standings. Leader Terry Gallops was not in the field, but still holds a commanding lead.

All the masters in attendance decided to play Open this weekend so there was no masters field. Jeff Baldwin still leads over Brian McRee with Chris Lee in third.

The advanced division this year has been dominated by Jon Mills and OHO was no different. Mills cruised to a 9 throw victory thanks mostly to his 1023 rated 41 in the second round. Mills was the series leader coming in and increased his lead to 158 points. If anyone is going to catch him, they better make their move quick! Someone who might be making that move is Brad Smith. Smith finished 5th this weekend and jumped all the way into 11th place.

The intermediate division has been the best race of all the divisions and after OHO, it's even tighter. With John Mickelson's 4th place finish, he increased his lead to 152 points over Mike Norris, who finished 9th. Chris MacLeod's runner up finish moved him into 3rd. With Mickelson soon moving, Norris or MacLeod could catch him. It will be a tight race!

The next event on the series is event 15, the Gate City Throwdown in Greensboro. After that, we finish with the final 4 events of the year over the next three months. And in true fairness, the final 4 events have each of the four regions represented!

Points Updated After Midtown

All points have been updated after Midtown. No major shifts in any division, however, Michael Johansen's win moved him into second in open.

As a reminder, only 13 events count towards your total. We are now 13 events into the series so soon, many people will not be earning points. There is still time to catch players!
